QR Codes being incorporated into Health Care

I just wanted to take a minute and share a great article that I read in the January issue of  In-plant Graphics Magazine. The article was about how BlueCross BlueShield has just recently started adding QR Codes to their billing statements and a few of their other printed pieces. The article talks about how much money they are saving by incorporating a QR Code that directs people to learn more or obtain more of their information via QR Code. They are saving money because a QR Code can take half of the information that you have on multiple pages and consolidate it to a singe sheet or two. Less printing, less money spent, more saving just from using a QR Code.

This is just another great use for a QR Code.

Below is a picture of the article featuring the QR Code.

What a good idea as BCBS does not enjoy a particularly good I.T. Reputation in general and customer communications on particular. QR codes might be the first important step in resolving both problems.
