Recently, some of our staff went to Colorado Springs for the MFSA Annual Conference. While they were there they spotted a very cool QR Code poster at one of the local restaurants. The image below is a picture of the poster at the restaurant and as you can see it is a very simple poster but it sure did grab our staff’s attention.
Each QR Code scans to a page for either their daily events (right side screenshot) and/or their website. This is a very cool idea for a restaurant to incorporate QR Codes into their marketing efforts.

Although it’s great to see restaurants using this technology, there are far better ways of executing a promotion like this, utilizing 1 (low density) QR Code:
Option 1: Creating one unified landing page with all the daily specials and happy hour details. Including an option to share the deal with friends via social media.
Option 2: Utilizing one code to take you to the appropriate landing page based on the day of the week it is scanned. A unique landing page would exist for each of the daily specials.
