A recent news story in the Orlando Sentinel detailed how Lynx will be using QR Codes to provide more information to their passengers.
Lynx is rolling our a program called “Qlinks”. Here’s a brief outline of how it will work:
People with smart phones will have the ability to scan a QR Code that is affixed to a bus-stop pole. They will then be connected to a schedule and route map. But more important than that, they will be able to access the location of the bus and its anticipated arrival time.
No doubt, the goal of this program is to provide the “consumers” of Lynx with a better experience. People may not have to stand around for long periods of time, wondering when the next bus will arrive.
