Thanks to the fine folks at Pew Research, we have a new round of smartphone ownership statistics to review.

Here are a few highlights from the report that was released on 7/11/2011:

  • 35% of American adults own smartphones
  • 58% of Americans between the ages of 25 and 34 now own a smartphone
  • Urban and suburban residents are roughly twice as likely to own a smartphone as those living in rural areas
  • 68% of smartphone owners access the internet or email on their handheld on a typical day

There is no doubt that smartphone ownership will continue to rise. For one thing, the great majority of smartphones are happy with their device of choice.

But now here’s the question for you — when a smartphone owner scans a QR Code and visits your website, will they be happy with the experience that they have? Will they have to wait 2 minutes for images to load? Will they see icons indicating that you have plug-ins that do not work on their phone’s platform? Will their fingers get sore from scrolling up, down, left, and right?

If so, iFlyMobi (interlinkONE’s mobile website builder application) may be able to help you put a smile on their face.
