Our team is quite excited to announce the release of some major new enhancements to the QReate & Track application.
One feature that many customers have been looking forward to for a long time has been included in this release. Yes, QR Code location-tracking and reporting is now available within our software!
This feature is available now for all registered users of the QReate & Track application.
How to Turn on Location Tracking for New QR Codes
Users now have the ability to track the location of any website URL QR Codes that they create within the QReate & Track application.
On the “Create a QR Code” screen, registered users will now see an option to “Ask User For Location Upon Scan”.
If that box is checked, then the QReate & Track QR Code tracking logic will attempt to grab the user’s location when they scan the QR Code.
If the location data is shared by the user’s phone, that data will be instantly captured by our system and the user will be directed to the destination website.
How to View the Location in the QR Code Reports
By using the “Location Tracking” option for your QR Codes, you will be able see in real-time where people are scanning your QR Codes from.
To view the reports, simply click on the QR Code from the left-navigation menu. Then, in addition to seeing charts for Daily and Weekly visitors, you will now see a map that displays pins on the locations of your QR Code scans.
If you click the “All Weekly Hits” or “All Yearly Hits” buttons, you will also see this mapped data on those pages as well.
Use the Zoom features with the map to get a detailed look at where your QR Code scans are truly happening!
How To Turn on Location Tracking for Existing QR Codes
If you have been a user of the QReate & Track application, you may want to start capturing the location for your existing QR Codes from this point forward.
Here is how you can do that.
- Log-in to the QReate & Track application.
- Find the QR Code that you’d like to add Location-tracking to from the left-side menu, and then click on it.
- Click on the “Edit” button.
- Over to the right, you will now see a check-box under the “Ask for Location” column. Simply check that box and click the “Save” button.
- From that point forward, location tracking will be attempted for any future scans of that QR Code.
